is now open and accepting responses from beekeepers across all 50 states. No matter the size of your apiary, this dedicated consortium of researchers want to hear from you and your experiences over the past 12 months,

Splitting Colonies to expand your Apiary
Scott McKane is the Founder and Owner of McKane Apiaries. In 2010, he became interested in owning bees, and after attending a beginner's beekeeping class Jan 2011, he started his journey of becoming a beekeeper.
Join us to learn:
Evaluating the colony size/strength before splitting
What time of year is best to split a hive
What resources are needed to make a successful split
Post split care
